What about those plasmids? DUE WED, JAN 27

Antibiotic resistance seems to be on an all-time high.
So, I thought, "I will bring my carry-on Hg-lamp with me!".
Just to be sure, "I will buy a life-time supply of Canada Dry". One would not want to die as many a Darwinian-like African explorer.
Those two should cover my bases, though maybe get my children a third arm.

Why o why? Blog about my two comments.

UV light waves are high energy and kill bacteria. Hg-lamps are “efficient sources of deep UV light” which would make them suitable to a person looking to kill bacteria on surfaces around them.

“I will buy a lifetime supply of Canada Dry.”

Canada Dry is a brand of tonic water. Tonic water consists of quinine which is a “natural white crystalline alkaloid” that has painkilling, fever-reducing, anti-inflammatory and antimalarial attributes (Wiki). Quinine is used as a treatment for malaria. This drink would be appealing to a person seeking these prophylactic properties.

Though now days the amount of quinine in drinks are medically insignificant, meaning one would have to drink more in order to receive a dosage large enough to stop malaria.

You say want to bring a mercury lamp because it contains high levels of energy and kill most bacteria due to the UV rays. You would like to have a lifetime supply of Canada Dry because it is a tonic water and tonic waters contain Quinine which was the first effective treatment for malaria, whiich happens to be a disease carried by a bug just as the infection Darwin experienced, caused by Plasmodium falciparum.

A “Life time supply of Canada Dry” would not be as important as you think, unless you are willing to drink heavy amounts of it at a time. Although it contains Quinine, which has been used to treat malaria, tonic water does not usually contain enough quinine to be useful to fight, or prevent malaria. Quinine for prevention of malaria can be purchased as tablets and liquid medications. It has also been used to speed up uterine contractions during childbirth. So if your pregnant, don’t over do the Canada Dry!

Because hg-lamps emit UV light and UV light waves are high energy and kill bacteria, it might be a good idea to pack that in your luggage! But be aware that there have been documented cases of lamps being damaged which can cause sun burns and eye inflammation, so if you do decide to bring your Hg-lamp, it’s a good idea to pack sunscreen and sunglasses as well, just incase!

Sure, carry around your mercury lab which sanitizes surfaces around you and can keep mosquitoes that carry malaria away but do you really want to expose yourself to those UV rays? You wouldn't sit out in the sun or a taning bed and let the UV rays fry you, right? Well Hg lamps can cause burns on your skin and eye damage. So sure, keep Malaria carrying mosquitoes away, but brace yourself for the effects of your Hg lamp and your childs third arm.

Knock yourself out with the Canada Dry! Canada Dry has tonic water which can keep your body from getting Malaria. Tonic water was first made to help people in areas where Malaria thrives become less likely to get the disease. So ignore the bitter taste and don't worry, your chances to contract Malaria will dicrease.

    WHAT ABOUT THOSE PLASMIDS?
    • Mercury is an important component in all energy-efficient lamps. Mercury lamps or Hg lamps are electric discharge lamps that in which the major portion of the radiation is produced by the excitation of mercury atoms. It was the first lamp to act as a light source that was mass produced for general lighting applications, and still today it remains one of the most popular discharge lamps produced globally.
    • Tonic water or Indian water, combined with quinine and a few other ingredients are established in the soft drink Canada dry. The beverage was originally used in Africa and India as a prophylactic against malaria. Tonic water is a carbonated beverage that derives its somewhat bitter taste from the addition of quinine. Though tonic water lacks enough quinine to reduce symptoms of malaria, it still is called a “tonic” meaning essentially healthful, from its use of quinine. Drinking Canada Dry would be one of the best ways to prevent from having malaria.

Furthermore, hg lamps have an incredibly long life span, and produce a strong light, thus making them ideal as bulbs and lamps for lighting, not for killing bacteria. The UV rays from the lamp could kill bacteria and other molecular organisms, but the filter prevents this from occurring.

A type of bacteria on your skin prevent humans from contracting certain types of fungi; I doubt you want to have that problem.

  57. I wouldn't personally use a Hg lamp since the UV rays. Although I would use the lamp for a short time use so you can resist bacteria but don't receive as much damage from pro-long use. The life-time of Canada Dry is good for you cause it can prevent malaria, since the quinine and tonic water. Yet the thing I couldn't stand the taste of Canada Dry, but its either bad taste or malaria so ...

Hg-Lamps comprise of high levels of UV Rays which, by research, are very efficient for eliminating surrounding bacteria. In my opinion, this can be appreciated in some situations, but when it starts destroying necessary bacteria, is it really helping?

“I will buy a lifetime supply of Canada Dry.”

Canada Dry is a sort of tonic drink that contains the natural white crystalline alkaloid that was one of the aboriginal medicine for malaria treatments.Europeans were introduced to quinine in the 1600s, when Jesuit missionaries first brought the “miracle bark” to Europe from their South American missions. When Europeans began using the drug to treat the fevers associated with malaria, they discovered that it was highly effective against certain strains, and Jesuit missions soon began raking in money from their quinine-extracting operations. Through the 1930s, quinine was the only drug effective against malaria, until an assortment of antimalarials were developed to combat the disease. But, on the downside, it comes with too many side effects such as paralysis if injected into the nerve, abnormal heart rhythms, and sometimes, hearing impairment. It should be avoided with patients with conduction defects or heart blocks.
But, hey, if you wanna take the risk, go ahead.

    "carry my hg-lamp with me"

Hg-lamps give out UV light waves, and ultraviolet rays are a proven way of protecting from diseases and can kill bacteria, using the mercury within them.

"I will buy a life-time supply of Canada Dry"

Canada Dry is a type of flavored tonic water, which contains quinine. this protects against malaria, although, unless you drink extremely large amounts everyday, you will not get enough doses of quinine to help very much.

    "third arm"

Although quinine can help againts diseases, it also can intercalate within the DNA and that may cause bad effects, such as deformations like 3rd arms

“I will bring my carry-on Hg-lamp with me!”

    - Hg lamps are made of mercury. These lamps with a short wavelength are capable of cleaning or modifying different surfaces. The lamp can kill bacteria which is good. But it has a bad side, since the UV radiation can be bad for you. I would personally use another alternate rather than these lamps since the UV radiation and the mercury can be dangerous factors to humans.

"I will buy myself a lifetime supply of Canada Dry."

    - Canada Dry is a brand of tonic water such as Schwepps and others.
The tonic waters on the market today contain a small dosage of quinine, not like they did back then when they were used purposely to prevent malaria in Africa. Today, drinking one bottle of Canada Dry or other types of tonic waters will have no effect on you. In that case a lifetime supply of tonic water would sound like a good idea to prevent malaria. A con of drinking too much Canada Dry or other tonic waters is the negative side effects it could have.

As for the Hg lamp, it is not only dangerous to your health, but also quite an expensive option. With 1 mercury lamp, you may end up paying well over $500 as with tonic water you would end up paying less than $2 every 2 liter bottle. I would go with the tonic water because it removes the hassle, danger, and price of that of an Hg lamp. Due to the fact that they both can protect you from the same sickness, tonic water is the obvious choice.

  62. Mercury lamps serve as useful sources of UV light. This particular wavelength of light can irradiate contaminants and render surfaces sterile, though prolonged exposure to this light can lead to health concerns, amongst them skin cancer :/

Canada Dry is a brand of beverage makers that manufacture, amongst other products, a ginger ale drink that is made with an alkaloid named quinine that not only gives the drink a distinctive taste but also gives it somewhat negligible anti-malarial properties and a funky fluorescence. Not to mention it makes for a great drink mixer; gin and tonic!! :p

  63. Michael Estevill -Period 7 ...Id rather take my Hg lamp with me then take a chance on catching some sort of harmful bacteria! Turns out the UV rays emmited by this tricked out lamp are great against that kinda stuff!!! And Ive never tried Canada Dry ...but i might just start to try it if i have to go to Africa. I heard that there's high quantities of quinine in that stuff!! Quinine helps prevent maleria which rocks if you happen to be in a mosquito infested jungle in Africa and u just drank A LOT of Canada Dry!!

That might not be such a good idea! Mercury is a very hamful substance to the human body. If it falls and breaks then you would have to clean it up very slowly and carefully. The tradeoff between mercury poisoning and plasid breakup is not worth it.

"I will buy a life-time supply of Canada Dry"

I don't that would really help. The amount of quinine currently in canada dry tonic water is so minscule you would have to drink more that your body weight. You however can take a drug called Qualaquin for your malarial needs.

Sure take a carry-on Hg-lamp with you. It'll help you kill the bateria by damaging the bacteria's DNA, however if the UV radiation escapes, you will be sorry indeed.

Canada Dry, which has quinine, acts as a prophylactic against malaria. Quanine is a tonic water that is added into beverages like Canada Dry, so you won't die of the disease like one of those Darwinian-like African explorers. If you must, take it in large doses, because today there's medically insignificant quinine in one can of Canada Dry. But quinine intercalates with DNA, so there's no one to blame when your kidney fails and your baby is born with a third arm.

  66. Low-pressure Hg lamps are very efficient sources of deep UV light. Low pressure mercury-vapor lamps have usually a quartz bulb in order to emit short wavelength light. Such a lamp can then be used for the cleaning or killing of bacteria.

Tonic water originally contained only carbonated water and quinine, and it contained a large amount of quinine. The quinine was added to the drink to protect against malaria, since it was originally intended for consumption in tropical areas of India and Africa where that disease is endemic. But today’s standard 2L Canada Dry bottle has about 225 milligrams of quinine which means you would have to drink 3 2 liter bottles a day to have results.

  67. i believe that the HG lamp is not a very smart thing to use becasue it is good in the fact that it kills bacteria but yet you have harmful UV rays reflected on your skin. i prefer the Canada Dry that has the same affect of the Malaria prevention shot. i would use the Canada Dry and not the HG lamp

Hmm.. an HG-Lamp. Yes, this UV concentrated lamp will in fact kill bacteria. However, it is scientifically supported that heavy amounts of UV light contribute to skin cancer, which left untreated can leave you for dead. So, if you decide to use an hg lamp, then a suggest you also bring a life time supply of sunblock spf-1,000,000.

Ahh! Canada Dry? That will work. The amounts of quinine in Canada Dry will definetely help to prevent malaria. Since the 17th century it has been used as an effective treatment against the disease.

Taking an Hg lamp with you will fight bacteria because it emits UV rays which can kill the bacteria. The risks of using this are that the UV rays can harm our skin and the mercury inside the lamp is very hazardous when let out. This lamp would also be very useful in killing bacteria in food and different surfaces.

Canada Dry is a brand of tonic water which contains an ingredient called quinine. Although drinking Canada Dry can help protect you from malaria, it could cause alterations in you DNA which could give your child a third arm.

Ultraviolet (UV) light has shorter wavelengths than visible light.
Canada Dry sells the ginger ale which contains quinine. Quinine is a well-known for curing malaria. A person would probably not die as a Darwinian-like African explorer if they had sickle-cell anemia or Canada Dry Toxic Water.A prophylactic is a drug and or treatment that is engineered to fend off harmful diseases. So you would want to bring a hg lamp with you becuase mercury-arc lamps are commonly used in photocleavage reactions which are commonly used in antiviral therapeutic strategies.

UV light waves are high energy and shorter than visible light. UV light waves also kill bacteria. Hg-lamps are “efficient sources of deep UV light” which would make them suitable to a person looking to kill bacteria on surfaces around them. The radiation giving off by these lamps would kill the bacteria and provide a healthier enviroment.
